Two Oxnard brothers were hospitalized after they ran in front of a car early Sunday, authorities said.
Manuel Avila, 21, suffered head and internal injuries and was in stable condition at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, nursing supervisor Kathy Smith said. His brother, Jose Avila, estimated to be in his teens, was in serious condition with internal injuries and a fractured leg, Smith said.
At 2 a.m. Sunday, Salvador Guerrero, 22, of Oxnard was driving south on Oxnard Boulevard near Commercial Avenue when the Avila brothers “darted into the road,” said Sgt. Frederick Barry of the Oxnard Police Department.
