Student Wins Essay Contest for 2nd Year

Victor Raul Gomez of Belmont High School won a top award for the second straight year in the Cinco de Mayo essay contest.
Gomez won in the 10th to 12th grade, Spanish-language category. Other first place winners were Edward John Han of Loyola High, 10th to 12th grade, English; Angelica Ching of Schurr High, 7th to 9th grade, Spanish, and Melissa Maradiegue of Whitney High, 7th to 9th grade, English.
The contest was coordinated by the USC Office of Civic and Community Relations.
