Laker Steve Bucknall was charged by Chapel Hill, N.C., police with driving while impaired.
Police said Bucknall, 24, a former University of North Carolina player, was driving on the wrong side of the road, speeding and went through two red lights.
Bucknall registered a blood alcohol level of 0.13 after he was arrested, police said. The legal blood alcohol limit in North Carolina is 0.10.
