Torrance police continued their search Wednesday for a suspected arsonist who started a fire that destroyed a two-story building in old downtown early Tuesday.
The blaze, which caused an estimated $1 million in losses, gutted the Value Village thrift store on Sartori Avenue and damaged two adjacent buildings, officials said. The fire started in a dumpster behind the building. Police believe the same person is responsible for another five to six dumpster fires set that night.
