Riverside’s Faria Wins Speedway Main Event

Mike Faria of Riverside won the four-lap scratch main event in the weekly speedway program Friday at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa was second, Steve Lucero of Riverside was third and Shawn McConnell of Brea fourth.

Alan Christian of Murrieta won the eight-lap handicap main event. Andy Northrup of Ontario was second, Mark Hannah of Sunset Beach was third, and Steve Russell of Tustin of fourth.
