Two Orange County classical-music presenters received ratings lower than they were given last year in their quests for arts grants from the California Arts Council. The Orange County Philharmonic Society was rated a 4-, down from its perfect score of 4 last year (when it received $32,500). The Laguna Beach Chamber Music Society was given a 3+, down from 4- last year (when it was given $5,264). Rankings are used to determine how much the groups receive from the state agency. Grant amounts will be decided when the council meets in September.
