California Amplifier Reports Gains in Quarter

California Amplifier, a Camarillo company that makes components for satellite dishes, reported net income of $55,000 in the fiscal first quarter that ended June 2 on a 45% increase in revenues to $3.54 million. In the year earlier quarter, the company lost $123,000 on $2.44 million in revenues.
The company also said it completed a private placement of 378,000 shares of common stock for $1.125 a share. Net proceeds from the sale are expected to total $395,000, which will be used for working capital and general corporate purposes, it said.
