CBS Emmy Nomination Leader: CBS heads the pack in nominations for the 1989 News and Documentary Emmy awards. The third-place network received 37 nominations, 10 more than its closest competitor, PBS, with 27. ABC followed with 22, TBS earned 12 and NBC tallied 11. The awards will be presented by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences during a black-tie dinner Sept. 12 at New York City’s Waldorf-Astoria.
