UC Irvine Signs Eight Athletes

UC Irvine has signed six baseball and two track and field athletes to letters of intent, the university announced Tuesday.
The track and field athletes are Rob Price of Saddleback High, the state scholar-athlete of the year and runner-up in 3,200-meter event at the Southern Section 3-A championships, and Corey Rodgers, a high jumper from Cajon High in San Bernardino who has leaped 6 feet 10.
The baseball players are Pete Golaszewski , a third baseman-outfielder from Mt. San Jacinto College; Mark Hartmann, an infielder-pitcher from Rosamond High School; Matt LaBelle, a pitcher from Newbury Park High; Tim McDonnell, an infielder from Chaffey College; Steve Ott, an infielder-outfielder form Kings River College, and Gabe Sollecito, a shortstop-pitcher from Monterey High.
