Osaka Gas Co., Japan’s No. 2 city gas supplier, has established a subsidiary in Pasadena to launch marketing and import activities in North America.
The company said the new firm, Osaka Gas America Inc., will purchase sundries such as tableware and household goods in the United States for sale to companies belonging to the Osaka Gas Group.
The new company also plans to market pollution control equipment, such as chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) emission prevention systems, to U.S. firms.
Osaka Gas America, capitalized at $3 million, was the company’s second overseas subsidiary, following Osaka Gas Europe, established in London last year, the company said.
