World IN BRIEF : SOMALIA : Government Sacked After Six Months

President Mohamed Siad Barre sacked the 6-month-old government of Prime Minister Mohamed Ali Samantar. Barre gave no reason for the move in Mogadishu, but the East African nation has been convulsed by rebellions and banditry. Mohamed Hawadle Madar, an ex-Cabinet minister, was asked to form a new government. He is a member of the Isaak clan, a major supporter of the rebel Somali National Movement.
