WORLD : Allies Extend Talks on Germany

EAST BERLIN — The four World War II Allies extended talks on German unification today amid reports they were bogged down on a timetable for the withdrawal of Soviet troops.
Representatives from the Soviet Union, the United States, France and Britain also reportedly disagree on when Western forces will be pulled out of West Berlin, according to news reports.
The officials are seeking a pact to be signed Sept. 12 in Moscow, when the four countries and both Germanys are scheduled to meet for final talks on unification.
The Allied delegation began meeting in East Berlin on Tuesday and has extended its talks at least through Friday. The talks had been scheduled to end Wednesday.
