Compared to a few other summer releases, “Ghost Dad” looks downright successful. Consider some grosses of high-profile pictures that sputtered at box offices from the get-go:
“The Two Jakes,” $9.4 million after 25 days; “Betsy’s Wedding,” $19.7 million, 74 days; “Quick Change,” $14.7 million, 53 days; “Fire Birds,” $14.8 million, 102 days; “Wild at Heart,” $8.8 million, 18 days; “Mo’ Better Blues,” $13.8 million, 32 days.
“Last Exit to Brooklyn,” released four months back but playing into the summer, bottomed out at $1.7 million.
