County Volleyball Tournament Scheduled

Thirty-seven girls’ volleyball teams will compete this weekend in the Orange County high school championships.
The two-day, three-division tournament begins Friday, with the finals on Saturday.
The finals of the Division I tournament, which is composed of the county’s top 10 teams, is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Edison High School.
The Division II finals will be at 4 p.m. at Marina High and the Division III finals will be at 4 p.m. at Westminster High.
Three Division I teams are ranked nationally by Volleyball Monthly magazine--Corona del Mar (second), La Habra (11th) and Newport Harbor (12th).
Today’s Division I schedule (all games at Edison): Mater Dei vs. Edison, 3 p.m.; Woodbridge vs. Fountain Valley, 3 p.m.; La Habra vs. Capistrano Valley, 5 p.m.; El Toro vs. Newport Harbor, 5 p.m. Corona del Mar will play the winner of the Edison-Mater Dei game at 7 p.m., and Laguna Beach will play the winner of Woodbridge-Fountain Valley at 7 p.m.
Division II and III teams will begin pool play at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at their respective sites.
