Black Entertainment TV, Reid Form Partnership: Cable network Black Entertainment Television and actor/producer Tim Reid have created a 50-50 limited partnership named United Image Entertainment to produce black-oriented programming for all media. The company, likely to be based in Burbank, will be headed by Michele Clark, former director of business affairs at HBO. BET President Robert L. Johnson said the partnership’s mandate is to make “quality shows that reflect the diversity of black lifestyle” and give opportunity for black producers to “gain access to decision-makers.” The venture will be capitalized by BET, whose investors include Tele-Communications Inc., HBO and Great American Broadcasting Co.
