A 27-year-old Southeast San Diego man was killed early Wednesday after he and some friends argued with a group of men who wanted to sell them a stereo, police said.
Angel Marquez, who lives in the 5200 block of Naranja Street, was pronounced dead just after 1 a.m. at Mercy Hospital, Lt. Dan Berglund said.
Marquez had been sitting in front of his house with friends when they were approached by the group of men.
The two groups got into argument, so Marquez and his friends apparently tried to push them away from the house.
Another group of men who had been across the street came running toward them firing shots from a handgun, hitting Marquez in the chest, Berglund said.
