‘Sister Mary Ignatius’: Is It Comedy or Bigotry?
I am outraged, absolutely outraged, that self-appointed thought police like the Feeneys are trying to impose their humorless Christian fanaticism on the rest of us! What is additionally outrageous is that they are being taken seriously--Councilwoman (Sandra L.) Genis will “seek to put the matter on the agenda. . . .”
Last June, the Feeneys actually succeeded in delaying arts grants for the South Coast Repertory and other groups. With their attack on the Costa Mesa Playhouse, they are continuing their personal war against artistic freedom and diversity.
Open-minded, independent, free-thinking people, both religious and not, must become vocal against such attempted tyranny by the likes of the Feeneys.
