COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Long Beach Sweeps UCI in Women’s Volleyball

Antoinnette White had 12 kills to lead Cal State Long Beach, the defending national champion, to a 15-2, 15-6, 15-8 sweep of UC Irvine in a Big West Conference women’s volleyball match Tuesday at Long Beach.
Christine Romero added 11 kills for Long Beach (11-2, 2-1 in conference). Scotleen Risley had eight kills for Irvine (5-7, 1-2).
In nonconference women’s volleyball:
Loyola Marymount 3, Cal State Fullerton 1--Becky Howlett had 17 kills for host Fullerton (3-11), which lost, 15-5, 12-15, 15-7, 15-7. Deanna Doolittle had 17 kills for Loyola Marymount (6-8).
Christ College Irvine 3, The Master’s 1--Miriam Paulus had 14 kills to lead host Christ College Irvine (9-12) in a 15-12, 15-7, 8-15, 15-9 victory.
