Injection Wells Ordered Closed: Six Southern California firms were told by the Environmental Protection Agency to halt underground dumping of contaminated fluids. Part of an ongoing EPA enforcement effort, the firms were accused of violating the federal Safe Drinking Water Act--but not posing an immediate danger to any drinking water supplies--by disposing of oil, degreasing solvents and other wastes in the wells. Named were: Ball & Sons Auto, Malibu; Sierra Toyota, Lancaster; Trancas Canyon Chevron, Malibu; Foothill Chevrolet, La Canada; B. & H. Repair, Corona, and Daily Tire & Automotive, Newhall.
