An Amtrak engineer, injured in a motorcycle accident in Loma Portal, died Thursday of his injuries, the coroner’s office said.
Kim Thomas Cicinelli, 39, was northbound in the 2900 block of Worden Street about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday when his motorcycle crossed the center divider, Deputy Coroner Bill Leard said. Cicinelli, who was not wearing a helmet, collided with a southbound car driven by John Bowe. Bowe, 38, was not injured nor was he cited, Leard said.
Cicinelli was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center, where he died at 1:26 a.m. Thursday of head and internal injuries, Leard said.
Cicinelli, recently transferred to San Diego from Santa Barbara, lived in the 3600 block of Amaryllis Drive in Loma Portal. He is survived by his wife, Carol, of Santa Barbara.
