Dead Defunct at University Grateful Dead concerts helped fund the University of Oregon’s Athletic Department last summer, but the popular rock band won’t be allowed to return next year, officials announced Tuesday. Dan Williams, UO’s vice president for administration, said the school’s stadium will be off-limits to the San Francisco rock band next summer due to concerns the school could be seen as condoning drug abuse among the group’s fans.
