From the Battlefield to the Diamond: Ken Burns, producer, director and writer of the acclaimed PBS series, “The Civil War,” will team up again with General Motors, the sole corporate underwriter of the highly-rated series, for a five-hour film history of America’s national pastime entitled “Baseball.” The program, now being researched, is scheduled to air on PBS in 1993.
