A teen-ager was killed and two others were wounded in what appeared to be a gang-related drive-by shooting in Sepulveda, Los Angeles police said Sunday.
The youths were standing near parked cars in the 8800 block of Langdon Avenue when gunfire erupted from one of two cars that passed by them about 8 p.m. Saturday, Officer Kevin Cunningham said.
A 15-year-old boy, whose name was not released, was declared dead on arrival at Panorama Community Hospital, police said. A 17-year-old youth was in serious but stable condition at Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills and the third victim, also 17, was treated at the same hospital for a gunshot wound to the arm and then released, Cunningham said.
Police would not release the surviving youths’ names out of concern for their safety, Cunningham said. No suspects had been arrested, he said.
