Highland Devotion Wins by Neck

NEW YORK — Highland Devotion slipped through along the rail to gain the lead in mid-stretch, then held off fast-closing Academy Award for a neck victory in Friday’s Sitzmark Purse at Aqueduct.
The victory was the seventh in 14 starts for the 3-year-old gelding, who carried 115 pounds including Jerry Bailey and ran the 1 1/8 miles on the firm turf course in 1:49 2/5. Karmani finished third.
