Egghead Discount Software: The Issaquah, Wash., computer software retailer posted second-quarter earnings of $1.5 million, contrasted with a loss of $4.3 million a year ago. Sales leaped 17% to $114.8 million. The company said better cost-containment was a significant factor in the improvement.
