Dave Kragthorpe won’t be back next year as Oregon State’s coach, it was announced Wednesday.
“After a lengthy and considerable discussion this morning, Coach Kragthorpe and I have mutually agreed to make a change at the head coaching position,” Oregon State Athletic Director Dutch Baughman said.
The Beavers were 1-10 in 1990 and had a record of 17-48-2 in six seasons under Kragthorpe.
The University of Alabama faculty senate, citing the failure of Arizona voters to approve a holiday honoring Martin Luther King Jr., urged the school’s football team not to play in the Fiesta Bowl if asked.
The resolution was passed, 19-10, and will be forwarded to Roger Sayer, university president, and Pat Green, senate president.
