Escondido : Historic Battle of San Pasqual Reenacted

To commemorate the anniversary of the Battle of San Pasqual, a reenactment of the brief but bloody episode of the Mexican American War will be staged at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday at the San Pasqual Battlefield State Historic Park in Escondido.
This reenactment is done once a year on the Sunday closest to the actual battle date of Dec. 6, 1846.
The program will also include an Indian Ramada, dragoons, Mexican and Indian foods, displays and dances. The museum located on the park grounds will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It features a pictorial history of the different cultures and influences of the area--Native American, Californio, and American--and a video relating the events of the Mexican American War.
The reenactment is sponsored and performed by the San Pasqual Battlefield Volunteer Assn.

When: Show times at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.; program runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday
Where: San Pasqual Battlefield State Historic Park, 15808 San Pasqual Valley Road. Located one mile east of the San Diego Wild Animal Park on State Route 78.
Cost: Admission is free.
