Monrovia : Student Government Day
Monrovia High School students will be taking over the city and learning how local government runs on Tuesday as part of the annual Student Government Day.
The 14 students, who are involved in student government at their school, will work alongside city employees and City Council members for the day.
Mark Lawrence, an administrative intern who is coordinating the program, said the city hopes to educate the students about local government and encourage them to become involved in their community.
After a luncheon, the students will hold a mock City Council meeting using an agenda from a real meeting and hearing testimony from city employees.
