COLLEGE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Rush Scores 28 as Valley Beats Ventura, 72-58

Tisa Rush scored 28 points and made five of 10 three-point attempts Tuesday night to lead the Valley College women’s basketball team to a 72-58 win over Ventura in a championship semifinal of the Riverside tournament.
Claudia Rocha added 10 points for Valley (12-1), which has won seven in a row.
Forward Nicole Ellis scored a team-high 28 points for Ventura (8-4).
In another women’s game:
Moorpark 99, Long Beach City 55--Kerrie Marshall had game-high totals of 30 points and 17 rebounds as host Moorpark tied a school record with its 13th consecutive victory.
Marshall scored 17 points as the Raiders took a 50-18 lead at intermission. Lisa Huffaker added 19 points--13 on free throws--and eight assists for Moorpark (13-1). MEN
L.A. Valley 107, L.A. Air Force 67--Tory Stephens scored 24 points and Rick Garrick added 16 to pace the Monarchs (8-5) in a first-round victory over L.A. Air Force in the East Los Angeles tournament.
The Monarchs took a 57-27 lead at halftime and never let up. Russell Baldwin had 14 points and teammate Art Kirksey added 12 points and 17 rebounds.
El Camino 60, Oxnard 56--Oxnard’s one-point lead midway through the second half slipped away in a nonconference game at El Camino.
Shawn Talley scored a game-high 21 points for Oxnard (9-6), followed by Don Mitchell with 14.
