The city of Irvine will offer $15,000 in grants to artists and nonprofit arts organizations next year. The new Community Cultural Grants Program will provide grants ranging from $500 to $3,000 for such projects as exhibits, artist residencies and performances in Irvine. The grants, which may not be used for operating costs, will fund up to half of any project and must be matched by recipients 2-1. Individual artists may apply with sponsorship of an arts organization. Deadline for applications is Feb. 22. An application workshop is scheduled for Jan. 22, 7 p.m., at Irvine City Hall.
