Throughout the San Fernando Valley, there are small landscaped parks that offer quiet, scenic places to enjoy an afternoon or a variety of play equipment to entertain children. Typically, these parks are tucked into neighborhoods in such a way that only people who live nearby visit them.
Porter Ridge Park is an exception. Situated at the foot of the Santa Susana Mountains on the north side of the Valley, this park is so beautiful that people from miles away to visit.
Maintenance workers at the park say there is always a gentle breeze that blows across the park and from nearly any spot on the 10-acre site, people can see across the Valley.
