Youth Killed at Concert: A teen-ager was trampled to death Saturday in Salt Lake City and two others were seriously hurt as fans rushed toward the stage during a concert by the Australian rock group AC/DC, police said. Police spokesman Scott Atkinson said 14-year-old Jimmy Boyd of Salt Lake City died of asphyxiation as fans surged toward the stage at the Salt Palace Arena. Two other fans, an 18-year-old girl who had traveled from Eugene, Ore., and another 14-year-old boy from Salt Lake City, were in a hospital in serious condition after being injured in the crush, Atkinson said. “The fans suddenly surged forward, perhaps to get a better view of the band,” he said. “But the result was tragic.”
