Compaq’s Quarterly Income Jumps on New Product Success

The Houston-based personal computer company reported that its fourth-quarter income soared 70% to $135 million from the same period a year earlier on sales of $1 billion, up 27%. For all of 1990, net income rose 36% to $455 million on sales of $3.6 billion, up 25%. Compaq credited its growth to nine successful new products and strong international sales.
