Treasury Schedules Quarterly Financing: The Treasury announced plans to borrow $34.5 billion from the public next week, a record for any quarterly borrowing, in a series of debt auctions to replenish the government’s coffers. Deputy Assistant Secretary Michael E. Basham said the auctions would refund $17.3 billion of privately held notes maturing on Feb. 15 and raise about $17.2 billion in cash. Basham said the auctions next week would offer: $12.5 billion in three-year notes in minimum denominations of $5,000 on Tuesday; $11 billion in 10-year notes in minimum denominations of $1,000 on Wednesday; and $11 billion in 30-year bonds in minimum denominations of $1,000 on Thursday.
