OIL: Crude closed down 20 cents at $21.14 a barrel in New York. DOW INDUSTRIALS: The 30 industrial stocks jumped 41.59 to 2,772.28 on positive reports on the progress of the war. CREDIT MARKETS: Bond prices moved higher. METALS: Gold advanced in New York, rising $2.50 an ounce to close at $368.60. CURRENCY: The dollar closed lower despite aggressive measures by central banks to shore up the flagging U.S. currency.
