NEWPORT BEACH — The law firm McKittrick, Jackson, DeMarco & Peckenpaugh has beefed up its corporate division by merging with a small Costa Mesa firm specializing in mergers and securities.
The three partners of Day & Associates of Costa Mesa have agreed to join McKittrick, Jackson as shareholders, said James R. DeMarco, president of McKittrick, Jackson.
“We wanted to increase our ability to do corporate work, mergers and acquisitions and securities work,” DeMarco said. “Our firm is primarily involved in real estate work and real estate litigation. We represent a lot of small and medium-sized clients, many of whom attempt to grow by offering securities to the public.
“The addition of these specialists nearly doubles our corporate and tax departments, allowing us to provide a greater range of legal services to our business clients,” he added.
With the addition of Rowland W. Day, Caldwell R. Campbell and Jehu Hand, the firm now has 47 lawyers, DeMarco said.
“We are excited about the extra strength and service we can now provide,” Day said in a prepared statement. He listed among new services business and real estate transaction assistance, litigation expertise and tax planning.
Day’s staff and a paralegal will accompany the partners to the Newport Beach office, DeMarco said.
