Oceanside police are investigating what they call the “suspicious” death of 19-month-old girl at her home.
Police went to the home in the 400 block of Edgehill Lane about 11 a.m. Tuesday after receiving a call that a baby was having difficulty breathing, authorities said.
Oceanside Police Department spokesman Bob Burke said a “suspect is under investigation,” but declined to identify the suspect. No arrest had been made as of late Tuesday.
The child was identified as Amber Winsley, and her mother as LaShawn Winsley, who telephoned police, a spokesman for the San Diego County medical examiner said.
An autopsy will be performed, the spokesman said.
