Valhalla’s Dillon Breaks Season Three-Pointer Record

SANTEE — Valhalla’s Mark Dillon sank 12 of 19 three-pointers to break UCLA forward Tracy Murray’s state single-season record in Tuesday night’s 99-61 victory over host West Hills.
Dillon, who finished with 50 points on 15-of-25 field-goal shooting, has 127 three-pointers this season through 26 games. Murray sank 125 three-pointers while playing for Glendora Highin 1988.
Dillon, who was averaging 23 points a game, sank nine of 12 three-pointers in the first half and did not attempt a three-pointer in the fourth quarter.
Julian Bonner added eight points and 14 rebounds for Valhalla (20-6,7-0), which clinched its third consecutive Grossmont 2-A League title. West Hills fell to 1-18 and 0-7.
