New Director: Paul N. Perrot, director of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts since 1984, has been named director of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, effective in September. Perrot will succeed Richard V. West, who retired in January. Perrot, a native of Paris, was assistant secretary for museum programs at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington from 1974-1984, and he directed the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, N.Y., for 12 of the 20 years he spent there, 1953-1973.
