Mahler’s Last Notes for Sale: An original manuscript of Gustav Mahler’s 10th Symphony could be gaveled off at up to $720,000 when it is sold in London next month, Sotheby’s said Sunday. Sotheby’s said the autographed manuscript is believed to contain the last notes Mahler wrote before his death in Vienna in 1911. The auction house would not identify the current owner of the manuscript, which will be auctioned May 17.
