All-American guard Kenny Anderson said Monday that he is skipping his final two seasons of basketball eligibility at Georgia Tech to make himself eligible for the NBA draft on June 26.
“The most important person to me is my mother, and I wanted to take care of her,” Anderson said. “It’s going to be hard to leave here.”
Anderson reportedly considered staying another season at Georgia Tech after a poor shooting performance in a second-round loss to Ohio State in the NCAA tournament, but chose to leave after consulting Coach Bobby Cremins over the weekend.
