Gump’s to Close Its 2 Texas Stores: The upscale California-based gift chain plans to close its two Texas stores to concentrate on its mail-order division. Gump’s said it will close stores in the Houston and Dallas Gallerias but continue operating its Beverly Hills and San Francisco stores. The gift shop specializes in jewelry, crystal, china and Oriental antiques. Its most profitable retail segment, however, is its mail-order business. The Houston Gump’s will close May 18. The Gump’s in Dallas will close April 24.
