A traffic accident that may have been caused by a drunk driver on a canyon road 7 miles north of Lakeside claimed the life of one person and sent another to the hospital Tuesday evening, authorities said.
The name of the dead man was not available, nor was the condition of the injured person. The accident occurred on Wildcat Canyon Road near Old Barona Road about 6:30 p.m., California Highway Patrol Officer Dean Beattie said.
A man was arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving and faces possible manslaughter charges, Beattie said. His name was not released.
