Countywide : Geography Bowl Kicks Off Today
- Share via
High school students throughout the county will test their geography wits today when Oxnard College hosts its second annual Geography Bowl.
Students, participating alone or on teams, will answer questions from a panel of judges, much like the College Bowl competition.
Winners will receive trophies, and the top school will receive a trophy to keep for a year.
The free event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Oxnard College Forum.
Exhibits will be on display and door prizes will be awarded.
Guest lecturer Margaret E. Elliott, an ecologist from the Geographic Analysis Center at the Naval Civil Engineering Laboratory in Port Hueneme, will give a presentation on Computer Graphics for the Environment at 10 a.m.
