Drive-By Shooting Suspects Identified

SANTA ANA — Two suspects who allegedly fired several bullets into a convenience store Thursday and led police on a chase were identified Friday as Melvin William Mansanares, 19, of Santa Ana and a 17-year-old juvenile.
The chase began shortly after 3 p.m. when two detectives witnessed a drive-by shooting in front of a store at 900 W. Pine St., police said.
The attackers sped off, pursued by police for more than a mile. At Flower and St. Andrews streets, their car crashed into a station wagon.
The two suspects were taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange and were in stable condition Friday, police said.
