Fewer Shares: Carl Karcher, founder of the Carl’s Jr. fast-food restaurant chain, has reduced his interest in an Orange engineering consulting firm for the second time in a month. Karcher cut his ownership of stock in VTN Corp. to 5.8%, or 744,000 common shares, down from 7.1%. He sold 162,000 shares between April 24 and May 7 for prices ranging from $1.37 to $1.44 a share, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Between March 14 and April 16, Karcher sold more than 200,000 shares to cut his holdings from the previous total of 8.8%.
