Colton’s Faria Wins Four-Lap Main Event

COSTA MESA — Mike Faria of Colton won the four-lap scratch main event in the weekly speedway motorcycle program Friday at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Phil Collins of Costa Mesa was second, Brad Oxley was third and Bobby Schwartz was fourth.

Gary Hicks of Riverside won the eight-lap handicap main event. Jessee Finch of Costa Mesa was second, Faria was third, Alan Christian of Murrieta was fourth, Brent Werner of Hesperia was fifth, Pat Holley of Huntington Beach was sixth, Gary Ackroyd of Newport Beach was seventh and Oxley was eighth.
