Coauette Receives Honor From WLAF

Sacramento Surge strong safety Greg Coauette, a former Burbank High, Glendale College and USC standout, was named to the first unit of the inaugural All-World League of American Football team.
Three former area players were second-team selections: wide receiver Monty Gilbreath (New York/New Jersey Knights, Taft High) and guards Barry Voorhees (Barcelona Dragons, Cal State Northridge) and John Guerrero (Orlando Thunder, Oxnard High and USC).
Robert Scott, a sprinter and jumper at Valley College, has signed a letter of intent to attend Washington on a track scholarship.
Scott, a sophomore from Grant High, finished second in the state long jump at 24 feet 4 1/2 inches.
