Rome Mistakes

I am not usually picky, but my curiosity was piqued by Ed Sheehan’s article (“History and Art Flow From Rome’s Fountains,” May 12). My interest prompted me to read every word. The spelling mistakes came as a shock. I call your attention to Piazza S. Bernado (Bernardo?), to the obelisk fountain at the Parthenon (Pantheon?) and to the Baraccia (Barcaccia?). Many guidebooks refer to the piazza which embraces the Fountain of the Naiads as the Piazza dell’Esedra--not the Piazza della Republica; in any case, the word is spelled with two b’s (Repubblica) in Italian.
