A San Francisco man died after he and another shipmate on a 23-foot sailboat were knocked overboard into chilly bay waters, Coast Guard officials said. Rescuers found the San Francisco man face-down in the water, unconscious and tangled in a web of rope trailing the boat. He was pronounced dead at San Francisco General Hospital at 1:15 p.m. The crew from another boat rescued the second man, a resident of Half Moon Bay. He was unharmed. The identities of both men were being withheld. Neither man was wearing a life jacket, a Coast Guard spokeswoman said.
